Analytical Technologist

The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting job opportunity as an Analytical Technologist located in Croydon, PA .
Perform routine and non-routine complex analysis such as solids content, pH, viscosity, density and chromatography.
Schedule and perform advanced calibration and maintenance of analytical systems.
Perform in-depth troubleshooting of analytical systems.
Monitor analytical systems, evaluate validity of data, apply statistics, interpret results and take appropriate action.
Document, communicate and archive analytical results, calibration and maintenance data electronically.
Generate shipment documents from SAP business software.
Perform first line troubleshooting of laboratory IT and data handling systems.
Monitor and maintain calibration standards and consumable items.
Manage raw material documentation.
Manage product retain samples.
Help troubleshoot plant and customer problems.
Assist in adapting and implementing laboratory IT and data handling systems to the needs of the unit.
Continuously improve EH&S and analytical performance.
Follow and train others on the AWP, analytical systems and EH&S and ODMS procedures.
Network with others to leverage technology, problem solving and prevention.

Required Qualifications:
Must be willing to work a rotating shift. The work schedule is a 3 day on day shift then 3 days off then 3 days on nights.
2 years laboratory experience, make sure to include any educational laboratory experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills are required.
Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must be able to willing and able to work in such environments wearing safety equipment, such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
Must be able to willing and able to work in such environments with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
Must be able to willing and able to work in such environments working in tight or closed-in spaces.
Must be willing and able to climb stairs/ladders and working high off the ground.
Must be willing and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with chromatographic instrumentation preferred.
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
Associate?s degree in relevant field/4 years military experience required.
Bachelor?s degree in Chemistry or related sciences is preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
